News Members Award Scheme

Objectives

  1. To ensure our new members are proficiency not only in footdrill but being all round leaders
  2. Our members should be trained to the standard applicable for corporal training course.

Marking Scheme

  1. Personal Footdrill (10 marks)
    • All footdrill movements taught will be assessed.
    • All foot drill movement will be assessed using the marking scheme of Corporal Course.
  2. Commanding (5 marks)
    • Fall in, standing movements, close order marching (without turning on the march), mark time, etc. Words of Command will be announced in due course.
    • All commanding performance will be assessed using the marking scheme of Corporal Course.
  3. Presentation (20 marks)
    • Impromptu presentation (1.5 min, prep. 6 min) and questions asked by interviewers (5 min)
    • A presentation on all materials learned in the course of the year (max. 8 min)

  4. First Aid knowledge test (20 marks)
    • 30 questions covering all content in the first aid textbook, except materials relating to CPR. (15mins)
    • A practical task related to bandage usage will be included.
  5. Attendance (10 marks)
    • % of attendance of the training course will be account for this part.
    • Anticipated absence has to be notified to Chairperson, Vice Chairperson and instructors of your group 2 working days in advance. Excuses exempted for mark deduction are accepted at the discretion of the aforementioned personnel.

  6. Continuous assessment (15 marks)
    • All footdrill movements taught will be assessed.
    • All foot drill movement will be assessed using the marking scheme of Corporal Course.

Award

  1. 2 metallic chevrons will be award to the champion and 1st Runner Up.
  2. 2 Certificates endorsed by SPACD Officer will be issued.
  3. The champion, 1st Runner Up and 2nd Runner Up will have the priority to be the committee member in the following year.
